Swami's-FPPI Development Elite Team (Swami's-FPPI DET)

The 2008 Men’s Developmental Elite Cycling Team is made up of 8 tremendously talented and experienced riders for regional and select national events.  Youthful and enthusiastic developmental riders alongside their more experienced mentors create a unique chemistry where commitment to each other and self-sacrifice shine brightest.

Swami's-FPPI DET Mission Statement

    • To establish a well organized grass-roots program within the Swami's Cycling Club that will provide support for talented young riders from the San Diego area in the elite (Pro 1/2) category with the expressed intent of thoughtfully mentoring and preparing them both physically and mentally for entry into the professional ranks.
    • To represent the Swami's Cycling Club, its partners and the team in professional, unique and meaningful ways that foster mutually beneficial and valuable long term relationships both on and off the bike.

The Swamis-FPPI DET is comprised of 8 developing cyclists. These cyclists are coached / mentored by 2 Team Directors (Chris Daggs and Marc Yap). These cyclists commit to racing in at least 30 events per year, be dedicated to their own personal cycling training / development as well as being a supportive, selfless teammate to the other DET members. Each of the DET cyclists commit to being drug / doping free and are required to participate in at least 3 community involvement events like bicycling safety clinics for elementary school children.

In exchange for their commitment the DET members support in the following forms, team clothing, race entry fees, equipment, and coaching.
